About Me!
As someone who was able to sing before I could talk, I have lived my entire life with music and performance rushing through my veins - and those passions have only grown. Involved in choir and theatre as early as the first grade, I landed my first professional role at Central City Opera as a Street Urchin in La Boheme at the age of 11. Soon after, I sang the part of "The Youth" in Felix Mendelssohn's Elijah with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and Chorus under the conduction of Grammy-award winning Duain Wolfe. Throughout my educational years, I also have long been cultivating various other musical skills, such as percussion, drum kit, drum line, guitar, ukulele, and, most of all, piano, contributing to my unique musical perspective and advantageous versatility. I've been blessed with many opportunities to put these skills to work in various settings, both within and outside of education.
Some of my favorite experiences have been in Colorado's rich regional theatre scene, including at the Arvada Center for Arts and Humanities (Summer Intensive productions of “Les Miserables” - Enjolras, and “Pippin” - Pippin), and at StageDoor Theatre in beautiful Conifer, Colorado, playing Chip in “The 25th...Spelling Bee” and Sky in "Mamma Mia!".
As as pianist, my extensive experience, grounded in 12 years of private lessons, includes many years in school symphonic and jazz bands, 2 years as the principle pianist for Ron Kimberlin's "Memories" 17-piece Jazz Dance Band (a touring band local to Lakewood, CO), a decade of various church service gigs at churches across the Denver Metro area, heavy involvement incorporating piano into my musical theatre endeavors, playing and leading vocal rehearsals, and professional funeral and wedding gigs.
In May 2023, I hit a huge milestone in expanding my educational and experiential horizons, both musically and otherwise, when I graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder, part of the very first cohort of Bachelor of Music - Musical Theatre majors. Today, I strive to engage in as many musical opportunities as I can, while also staying curious about other facets of how the world works (I recently returned from a 3-month backpacking adventure across SouthEast Asia), synthesizing these experiences into my performances. Consider me ready to step in, ready for the next big thing, and ready to get to work.
